South Luangwa (Zambia)

Landscapes, People and Camps

In August by the middle of the dry season, the South Luangwa landscape scenery has already hardened its contrasts of greens (trees/leaves), yellows (grass and sand) and greys (dried out muddy soils). Not the most ideal season for shooting more eye-pleasing softer toned landscape photos. To us, the South Luangwa scenery stayed impressive and eye-catching nonetheless.

Our three bush camps (Mechenja, Nsolo, and Luwi) were lovely places. While providing plenty of comfort (....and excellent service!), their small footprint accomodations are elegant and merge well with their wilderness surroundings.

The camps staff, guards and guides were all most hospitable and skilled professional. They made us feel most welcome and have looked after us in a great way (as one may expect from Norman Carr Safaris-selected sites).

The below photo galeries feature some of the wildlife, framing landscapes, and local Zambian people calling this 'home'.
