South Luangwa (Zambia ) - Local people

Along the main road to the South Luangwa National Park, local woman return home from the bush with collected firewoood.
A colourful scene worth a shot-from-the-car window.

Our Mechenja bush camp guard.

Breakfast time at the Mechenja bush camp.

While on our walk, Mechenja bush camp staff pass us on a nearby bush road.

Standing in the back of the landrover, the cook saluted us all smiles.

'Prince'

Our guide-cum-guard at Nsolo bush camp. Quite special a person, sometimes a bit 'prince-like' in a positive way. He proved good at tracking animals and very knowledgeable of the local wildlife.

Our guard at Nsolo bush camp. A man of few words and a stern look, totally focused on his responsibilities for our safety.

On our early morning drive out of the Mechenja bushcamp, a pro-looking camera man had taken position near a pride of (very sleepy) lions. He seemed ready for a long wait for lion action to come some time later,....if at all.

On our way out of the park, our driver had a short chat with this colourful looking driver of an other safari group.
