'Torenquilters' groep tentoonstelling 2022
Deze quilt is één van veertien geëxposeerde quilts in de 'Torenquilters' groep tentoonstelling van 2022 (April-Oktober) in het Torenmuseum van Goedereede (ZH). Foto onder.
Voor de quilts, hangend zij aan zij in één U-vormige lijn op de torenmuren, is als verbindende eenheid de 'kleurencirkel' gekozen. Aan mijn quilt bijdrage is blauw als thema kleur toebedeeld. Een secundair kleur (oranje-geel) is toegevoegd, als verbindend element met de in de cirkel aangrenzend hangende quilt (Foto: a/d linkerzijde, met als primaire kleuren: paars en violet).

This quilt is one of fourteen qults exhibited at the 'Torenquilters' group exhibition 2022 (April-October) in the 'Toren museum' in Goedereede (NL). Photo below.
Hanging side by side in a line on the tower walls, the chosen binding element in their line-up is the socalled 'colour circle'.
For my quilt, blue was the mandated theme colour. Another secondary colour (orange-yellow) was added as connecting element with the adjacent quilt (Photo: quilt hanging to the left, having purple and violet as primary colours.
Titel: 'Blown on Blues'
Deze titel is gekozen om de kracht en de intensiteit van het blauw te vangen, die de quilt uitstraalt. Die intens levendige blauwe texturen die je vol treffen in het gezicht. Gekozen ook, om in gedachten mee te varen in de bootjes die, onder vol zeil, worden voort geblazen over een bruisend glinsterende diep blauwe zee. De wind blaast, de zee zingt. Zacht golven zwoele en koele muzikale 'tonen' van......Blues.
Title: 'Blown on Blues'
The quilt was given this name to express the energy and the intensity of the blues, which it blows full in your face so to say.
The name also captures the fully rigged sailboats, running down wind across a silver-dotted deep blue sea. The wind blows, the sea sings. Waves wash soft muzical tones and tunes of .....Blues.
Materialen en Technieken
Ik heb gekozen om het 'kalme koele blauw' sprankelend levend te laten spreken. Enerzijds door gebruik van een maximale schakering van kleurentonen. Anderzijds door een maximale vorm variatie van de samenstellende onregelmatig gebogen uitgesneden kleine stof elementen. Die zijn verwerkt tot een textuur, die leeft, golft, bruist, maar tegelijkertijd homogeen beeldvullend toch ook 'koel blauwe' rust uitstraalt.

Materials and Techniques
I have chosen to let the cool blue radiate intense energy. By using a wide span of darker and lighter colourtones. And also through wide form variation of the composing small pieces of fabric, having irregularly curvy cuts. This yields a whirling wavy texture, which equally radiates a cool blue tranquility through its full-frame homogeneity.
