Cape Town and the Cape Peninsula

Panorama view of Cape Town with the 'Tafelberg' dominating its mountains backdrop. A one hour helicopter flight over Cape Town and the Cape peninsula made us enjoy (and photograph) the amazing vistas of this beautiful 'Lands End' of South Afrika.

Cape Town coast line panorama unfolds as the helicopter climbs high. Prominent landmarks are the 'Green Point Stadium' (site of the 2010 World Cup soccer) and pointed 'Signal Hill' in the background.

Along the East coast of the Cape peninsula a breeding colony of penguins occupies Boulder Beach right in the middle of Simonstown.

The colony counts some 3000 birds at present. The first single breeding pair settled here in 1982
